About
Anna McKay
Anna is a clinical psychologist with a private practice in Byron Bay. She has been a psychologist since 2011. Prior to training as a psychologist, Anna was a naturopath for 15 years with a particular interest in the wellbeing of the whole person. Anna holds a diploma in mindfulness and compassion teaching from the Insight Meditation Institute.
Anna has been practicing mindfulness and meditation for many years. She attended her first Insight (Vipassana) retreat in 2008 and was immediately taken with these ancient practices to learn to be present to whatever is arising and awakening to the causes and conditions of suffering. Since then, Anna has attended several silent retreats in the Insight tradition and has practiced under the guidance of some wonderful teachers.
Anna is interested in the benefits of mindfulness practice including cultivating a sense of calm and peace in the heart and mind, becoming more aware of how our thoughts and actions impact our lives and those around us, and feeling more connected to other beings and this great earth that we are so fortunate to live upon.
